Dr. H.E. Anderson, Sr., Senior Pastor

Dr. Howard E. Anderson, Sr. was born in Jewett, Texas. After graduating from George Washington Carver High School in 1964, he served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969.  Dr. Anderson is a Vietnam War veteran.

 Dr. Anderson was called to preach in June 1979, and was ordained in 1983.  He organized The “Exciting” Singing Hills Baptist Church January 1984 with 24 members and has served as Pastor for 34 years. Under his leadership the congregation has grown to over 3000 members and has completed five building projects.

 Academically, 1983, Dr. Anderson became the first African American to receive a degree from Criswell College.  That year, he received his B.A. in Biblical Studies.  He attained his M.A. in Pastoral Theology in 1993 from Criswell College. His academic achievements at Criswell College, afforded him the opportunity to serve on its Accreditation Committee.  In 2003, he received his Doctorate of Ministry from Bethany Divinity College and Seminary in Dothan, Alabama.

 Dr. Anderson has served on numerous committees in the Dallas Baptist Association, the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and the Southern Baptist Convention.  His roles have included: President of Dallas Baptist Association Pastor’s Conference, President of BGCT’s Black Baptist Fellowship, Executive Board Member of BGCT, Regional Mission Board Member and Committee on Nominations for the Southern Baptist Convention.  He has also served as a Trustee of Dallas Southwest Medical Center.

 In 2003, Dr. Anderson wrote his first book Growth Principles for an Exciting Church, discussing the mental discernment every church needs to be alive and vibrant.   In June of 2005 he released his second book Life Navigation: Biblical Guidance For Daily Living, expounding the normal, cooperative and continual aspects of spiritual growth and how God’s Word guides through our journey.  In July of 2015 he released his third book The Power of Your Faith, God gives us a resource that allows us to find victory in every circumstance that we encounter.  It is the Power of Your Faith in God.

 Dr. Anderson has been married to Mrs. Shirley Von Anderson for 51 years. They have one son, Howard Jr., M.D., daughter in law Erica, granddaughter Francesca Von, and grandsons Howard III and William Albert.

Rev. Golden Davis Sr., Assoc. Pastor of Education/Ministry

Reverend Golden Davis, Sr. is a native of Dallas, Texas. The son of a Baptist preacher, he accepted his call to the Gospel ministry in 1989.

Rev. Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies and a Master of Arts Degree in New Testament Bible Studies at Criswell College in Dallas, Texas.  He is currently working on his Doctorate in Education.

Rev. Davis served as pastor of The Mt. Olive Baptist Church, in Kansas City, from May 2001 until January 2012.  While serving as pastor in Kansas City, Rev. Davis was active in various religious and civic endeavors.  Rev. Davis spearheaded citywide initiatives that focused on health, education, wellness, crime prevention, safety, and social justice.

 As a conference speaker, missionary, and preacher, Rev. Davis has ministered on the continents of North America, South America, Europe, and Africa.

 On January 1, 2012, Rev. Davis assumed the position of Executive Pastor at The “Exciting” Singing Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Davis brings more than 20 years of preaching, leadership, church polity, Christian Education, and community involvement to the Singing Hills experience. In his current role, he provides general oversight for matters relating to the success of the church and its ministries.

 Rev. Davis is a family man. He married the former Ms. April M. Woods in December 1988.  They are blessed to have 6 children and 2 grandchildren.

Rev. Othie Gayton Sr., Associate Pastor of Missions

Rev. Othie Lee Gayton, Sr. serves as Associate Pastor & Minister of Missions at The "Exciting" Singing Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Gayton is a Dallas native.  He has a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Criswell College and a Master of Arts in Ministry.  Rev. Gayton has been married to wife Barbara for 45 years.
